General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Getting familiarized with the company’s customer profile. Introduction and talk about General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – protection of the customers personal details and implications for the company and my responsibilities as an employee. I was introduced to the customer profile of my company. It will help me to understand their needs and expectations, also to find a common ground between myself and potential clients talking to me as an employee. My manager has emphasised the importance of the GDPR, to protect and keep confidential personal data of customers. I noted what is expected from me and what mechanism my company uses to keep their database private.

Check out Customers

Today, I have learnt how to manage check-out of customers. I was given instructions to follow when someone leaves their accommodation. My manager has emphasised that it is very important to give the deposit back to the customers after having checked the condition of the accommodation. I hope that with this practical knowledge about check- ins and -outs, I will be able to manage my duties and responsibilities in this company.

Enhanced Communication

Today, I have learnt how to talk effectively with potential customers. I was given advice on how to answer clients’ questions and the importance of being friendly and talking with empathy. I have also learnt some effective communication techniques such as asking the right questions, paying close attention to what the clients say and responding in a way that shows understanding, learning from colleagues who are good communicators. I feel that I am making good progress towards achieving the learning objective of enhancing communication skills through this internship.

My supervisor advice to me

It’s probably going to be really difficult to move ahead in life if you do not take some risks and chances and step out of your comfort zone when the time calls for it. That doesn’t mean that you need to never be comfortable or always on edge, but if an opportunity arises that you’re even a little bit interested in: TAKE IT! You only get one life, and it’s YOURS to live.     You  control it, so do what interests  you , meet new people, and take a chance. I just Love to hear that advice.
